Hey Hey Cali! We made it home at 6 AM (from Branson Boot Camp) after taking a wrong turn in the Iowa cornfields and avoiding the floods in Independence, IA. Whew WHATATRIP!!!!! I am sooooo pumped. Brad, Steve, Danny, Bill, Rayner and Joanna gave us lots and lots of information to go out and tear it up with AdJango and IJango. For those that were not there you will have to beg and plead for the special treat we will be getting and the chance to be in Brad's trip give a way to the Netherlands. See you just had to be there to get all the perks that weren't listed. If you get down on your knees I might share. OH sorry Mike you are excluded from that being you are in such a state. Actually, it's not my plan, but it is a GREAT plan and it's from Angela Schnabel, Bulldog of the iJango Universe.

(Well, that title might belong to ND Kirk Martin since I read his post to one of those ridiculous "let's slam iJango" websites "just because we can make money doing that because people are searching 'ijango' and they will hit my website and THEIR traffic makes ME money".

Kirk ran across one of those the other day and WAYTOGO, KIRK! He ran over them like a bulldozer -- great comments, Kirk. However, I'm not going to post the website because you have to understand, guys, when you go to one of these sites, YOU make THEM money to slam YOU. Got it?)

Hey gang. I did some research. Blogs with negative iJango posts -- their posts other than iJango related ones only have 2-3 comments each but his iJango posts have 30+ comments.

SO. I'm thinking that has to do with why his posts show up so high in google. The more activity=higher page ranking.

I appreciate EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU for commenting and rating on mywot the other day. But I gave up on that because that website wants you to pay $300+ a year to "maintain your reputation" --- kind of like the BBB.

This, however, is controlled totally by me. If all my past research on blog SEO etc is worth any salt comments on blog posts that mention iJango on my blog are the way to go to get positive reviews high up on the search engines.

(please correct me if I'm wrong though!)

We hear a lot about BP these days. We understand the profit margin of oil companies is quite modest, like 3-5%. I know that restaurants and grocers are thrilled with 3% profit margin. You'd be surprised how many businesses are successful with a small profit margin.

Last night watched the true story of Braveheart (William Wallace) from the History Channel lineup. It wasn't any less bloody than the movie, and might not have been totally factually accurate but was true to the spirit. The author of 'Braveheart' was interviewed and he said something intriguing -- therefore I am going to burden you with it!

He said that he might have changed some of the facts, tweaked dates, persons, etc., but he believed that for a historian, there is Fact, and there is Truth. And you don't always need the facts to reflect the Truth.

Of course, when things are happening fast and the fur is flying (another metaphor, dude), the facts sometimes can't be recorded -- but the truth always is. One way or the other.

You do NOT have to use the Eos browser in order to get ijango commissions. Here's the skinny:

A person can be your iJango.com Free Member, and have their myname.ijango.com website, and use/shop/search it, be active and get commissions on what they do. They do not have to download the browser in order to receive all iJango benefits.

The Eos browser, when downloaded, uses cookies to track commissions to you whether you are using the 'Shopping' button on your ijango.com or not. For example, I can open up my Eos browser, type in 'Giftcards.com' and the browser goes straight there and pops up the "Track My Rewards" button. So, it is convenient and assures that I don't miss any commissions.

HOWEVER (CAUTION!), if your brand-new Director signs up on your ijango.com site and then refers a few Free Members, if the cookies are not cleared then his Free Members may be 'cookie'd' over to you. ROAD REPORT:

On Friday, we had a gorgeous drive from Fresno to Carson City -- snow proof below. Stayed at Walley World (hot springs, gorgeous views, palace units) courtesy of Hosts and National Directors Carrol and Jo Varner, who hosted a fantastic bbq on Saturday. I lost track of the people: Carrol estimates the crowd at 70 or so. Had such a great time and especially spent quality time with Directors and Regionals Daniel Rollberg, Francesca Franceschini (can you say 'incredible chicken pasta salad??'), Roz de Leau, Dawn Olsen and sis, Cheri, and Russ Fiddyment, and Ann and Mike, Smokey, Arni -- and all their guests. So many great folks -- YAGOTTALOVETHISBIZ!!

GREAT STORY HERE: Carrol introduced us to a gentleman named Brent. Just Brent. Carrol said, 'Brent is here to see iJango.' We thought he was a friend, there for the party, and a guest, to boot. But the food was coming off the grill, so we bellied up to the food bar and forgot about Brent.

About two hours later, Brent came over to us and said "I have to go." Mike and I scurried around and took Brent into the house to show the iJango prez. Brent made several calls to his wife saying, "I'll be just a few more minutes." He was soaking up everything, asking great questions, etc.

Turns out he was in Excel so he was very familiar with our marketing plan, with Steve, with history, etc. Carrol did not come in with us as he was, natch, hosting the crowd. So it wasn't until after Brent left and he followed up with us that we found out 'the rest of the story'.

Carrol did not know Brent AT ALL. They were complete strangers! Carrol had a piece of property for sale and Brent had called on it. In the course of that conversation, Carrol threw in a mention of his internet home-biz, invited Brent to come Saturday and take a look at it (expecting nothing), and Brent, to Carrol's surprise, SHOWED UP! Plus he was patient enough to wait a LONG time surrounded by complete strangers just in order to see iJango!

So, see there... share with everyone. Leave the iJango card on the table. The right person will see it and take you up on it.

A quick word of condolence to Lydia de Natividad on the death of her hubby, Ron. Lydia and Ron were born at (and below) the border around Tijuana, MX. Lydia was on the right side of the border (barely) and Ron on the wrong side. To make matters worse, he was the son of a known 'drug professional' in that area. Ron was hilarious describing himself in those days before Excel crowds. He would explain how he would dress up in typical zoot-suit clothes and GO TO THE BEACH south of San Diego. It was there he met and fell in love with Lydia, a very good, protected young lady.

When bullets began flying Ron's way thanks to his parentage, he and Lydia eloped to Canada. Once there, she got a job as a bank teller and he searched for work. Can't you just imagine their situation? By then he had discovered tie-dye clothes and Afro hair. Someone got Lydia into Amway and she hosted an Amway party at their apartment. It was NOT an auspicious beginning, especially when Ron escaped from the closet and met the guests. However, they went on to become top income earners with that company, internationally. They were top income earners with Excel when we met them and we became friends.

They were married over 40 years, were madly in love, and thanks to network marketing, made wonderful lives for themselves and their 3 children, all while working side-by-side. Ron suffered a devastating stroke over 5 years ago, and Lydia's care of him gave him these extra years.

When people tell you that these companies are a 'pyramid', and 'don't work' or 'don't last', remember Ron and Lydia. They were top income earners in several companies over the years, helped hundreds and hundreds of others make incredible positive changes in their lives, and -- where else would this couple have fit? With almost no education, pedigree, or support, this type of marketing was a place they could carve out a professional career for themselves and become contributing citizens of San Diego, CA.

There's nothing new about what we do, nothing threatening, nothing questionable. It accepts all comers, as they are. Go share iJango with someone today!

Isn't it interesting anyway: how many wealth-creating ships do you know of that originated OUTSIDE the US?

Our freedom (that we just celebrated, like YESTERDAY) and lack of restrictions has always resulted in an attitude in this country of "I can do that! I can figure that out! I can sell that! I can make that!" And then we do it.

Heard one explanation for it over the holiday: in Europe of the 1700s, royalty, nobility and soldiers were the cat's meow. Shopkeepers and merchants were considered little better than ragpickers.

But in the new country of America, merchants and shopkeepers were EVERYTHING. We hated royalty and nobility. We did revere soldiers, but not as much as the guy who could sell you the flour, sugar, ammo, and all the other things that were necessary to survive in the new country.

Those who made life better by their wonderful inventions and those who invested in an inventory of such things so that you could purchase them in the village where you lived --- these were the positions that average folks aspired to. And anybody from anywhere could have a better idea and reach the heights of wealth and position in the US. And did.

Having a better idea and marketing it: sounds like iJango, does it not?

Happy 4th of July Holiday Weekend. I'm sure you're busy wherever you are: I have a few projects of my own to get done.

Don't you love this time of the year? It means that SEPTEMBER is not far away --- come on, Football! And autumn. And Cool. And orange leaves falling.

But in the meantime, summer is the season when everything happens to prepare for fall.

Great ideas abound from you guys, too. RD Kim Mack up in NoCal shared a great idea she had -- and refined it this am. Here's Kim:

"Discovered today that the Elks and Lions lodges are doing booths too!"

Kim realized that most all fireworks booths are operated by fundraisers, charities, church groups, etc. So she put together a little iJango info-kit about the possibilities of fundraising with iJango and drove around her area dropping the kit off at all the booths.

The True Leverage of Network Marketing
Why It Pays To Give Every Prospect A Fair Chance

Wow! This is one quote that really grows on you if you understand network marketing. Especially when we are sponsoring in the New Economy.

How many times are we short-sighted in our sponsoring efforts? How many times have you heard statements such as these:

• "I'm not driving all the way across town for that loser. He's just a curiosity-seeker."
• "I already called that prospect twice. Why should I follow up again?"
• "If she wants a sample of the product, let her pay for it."
• "I never give a prospect a sponsoring CD or DVD to look over. They never send it back."

Short-sighted? Saving money? Good business?

Or, are these statements a reflection of a lack of understanding of our residual income business?

Let's take a look at the power of this type of marketing... The real leverage generated is that we get paid today and tomorrow, for what we do today.

That's right. We don't collect all our bonus checks right away on our efforts. Today's sponsoring efforts are rewarded month after month after month.

For example, imagine that you ran an ad for distributors in your local paper. You get 20 responses. Then you mail out a sponsoring CD, a company brochure, a cover letter, and a product sample to your 20 responses.

Yes, the cost starts adding up. And then you spend time on follow-up phone calls, information meetings at the local restaurant, and requests for more information and samples.

Ouch! More money out of the family budget.

Finally, you get a telephone call from one of your prospects requesting yet more samples, DVDs, and information. How would you react?

• Would you hang up on this freeloader?
• Would you send the requested material?
• Would you try to talk longer on the telephone?
• Would you rub your lucky rabbit's foot and hope this prospect turns into a leader?

How Network Marketing Leaders Get The BIG Payoff

Let's say that you send the requested materials and your prospect joined. She got excited about the products, the professionalism of her sponsor (that's you), and the long-term income possibilities of Network Marketing.

The following month you earned a $5.67 bonus override on her business. Is that all you've earned? No. If $5.67 is all that you would earn, you'd certainly rethink your policy of sending out free materials.

You will be paid month after month after month on your new distributor's business. That's the real payoff in Network Marketing.

The second month, your prospect earns you $75 in bonus overrides. The picture gets a little better now, doesn't it?

The third month, and every month thereafter, you earned $250 in bonus overrides. Now that's the payoff we look for in our business.

If you earn $250 a month from this new distributor, how much is that in one year?

$3,000!

That's exciting. Now, does that $3,000 payoff justify a little patience, a little more follow-up, and the cost of some product samples and postage? Certainly.

However, in Network Marketing your payoff doesn't stop after 12 months. Your payoff continues for the life of the new business you developed by sponsoring a new distributor. So, how much would you have collected in bonus overrides after ten years?

$30,000!!!

And that's measuring the bonus override on only a modest organization. What if you sponsored someone who earned you $1,000 a month for ten years? That's a $120,000 payoff!

Now, not every prospect is going to pay off with massive bonus checks. Many prospects won't even join your business. However, a few prospects will join and could make you rich beyond your wildest imagination.

The challenge is...you don't know which prospects will produce the big bonus override. That’s why it pays to not pre-judge prospects. Instead, give every prospect a fair chance to see the benefits of our wonderful business.

Profuse thanks to the wonderful Valerie S. from iJango HomeTeam in Austin. If you have had occasion to call 1.888.WE.JANGO, you have probably talked to her already. She was happy to address everyone on the webinar last night because of her love for the iJango Community, the Directors, and her desire for everyone to know how to be successful in their iJango efforts.

Here are some quick notes that I snagged from the Chat Board. Since we were on the phone line, I typed notes for those who couldn't get on the phone line to read. They are sketchy, but some great stuff here and I'll highlight the things that I either didn't know or had forgotten:

Valerie is speaking. She studied what tools are best to help educate Directors. Most phone calls into 888.WE.JANGO involve 'how can I build my team?' We need to help our Directors be active

If you are a sponsoring Director, be sure your Directors know how to be successful.

Valerie sends out training emails, one on first day, one on second day and one on fifth day. These training emails are key to them getting started.

First day is what they should learn on first day. Second day, Fifth day. Be sure to let your new Director know to be looking for these Training Emails.

The iJango company is very concerned that they all know how to build an active community.

Another thing they get calls about is a person who doesn't know how to register someone as a Director.

You send them to your website, they click on Join and create their own website. BE SURE THAT THEY KNOW THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO GIVE OUT THEIR OWN REFERRAL CODE/WEBSITE to their people. Often they give out the code of their sponsor and that slows everything down.

The company has also created a kit to send to new Directors. The Welcome Guide includes the training emails and has the Fast Start Plan of Action. It is a key to a Director's Success.

It is designed to take a new Director and make them Regional Director in 30 days.

Not many companies get you in a positive cash flow that quickly.

Regional is where the unlimited commissions begins.

A key to understand the FSPoA is understanding the Fast Start bonus.

Any Director who registers with iJango and has 3 Free Members in 30 days means that iJango pays out $190.

$140 is paid on the first Free member. The next 2 gets the next $50 paid.

So Free Member is needed to trigger money. Download parties are great ways to get Free Members on and Active.

Have a download party for that new Director and get them excited by showing them how easy it is to get and help Free Membees.

A download party is the best way to get more bang for your time. We see reps pick up 5 or so Free Members in an hour!

Promotions are the key to more income.

Make sure your new Directors know HOW to get promoted.

It is between you and the plan.

if you just arrived you need to call the dial in number at the top of the screen and passcode to hear Valerie.

The requirements that qualify you to promote mean that once met, the NEXT Director you bring in starts your next promotion.

The media center has great tools for this. Excellent visual training tools are there.

Anyone can go there and watch them over and over.

Steve Smith's overview is great. The portal tool, the opportunity webinar -- these are a great help to the new Directors.

Why we're all together in this great organization that is iJango -- we're looking for financial independence.

We need to understand HOW to get that money.

Just handing them the comp plan may not get the point across.

If you're a sponsoring Director, please be sure that your Directors know how to make their own money!

Make sure they know that their money is paid by Direct Deposits to the account they direct.

Make sure they know that as a Free Member they get a check for over $10. So be sure they know to go to My Account on their .com site and put in their address so we can send them their checks!

And that is for all your Free Members

Be sure your Directors know how to present iJango. Go to Presentations. in your Back Office...

Make sure your Directors know to call us -- your success is our success at iJango corporate.

People today are in a world of economic hurt. I just listened to the news and it isn't good: it is people unsure of what the future holds, what dumb ideas the government is cooking up next that will cost us or cut into our benefits or otherwise make life miserable for the common guy/gal (where's Mark Twain when you need him?) Actually, the news concerning the government is pretty much stable since it first started taking money from us.

From Wikipedia:

Income taxes evolved, but eventually in 1894, in the midst of a 30-year post-civil-war depression, the Supreme Court declared the Income Tax of 1894 unconstitutional in Pollock v. Farmers' Loan & Trust Co.. ^{(Hey, what a great idea!!! Let's Do that again!)}

In 1906, with the election of President Theodore Roosevelt, and later his successor William Howard Taft, the United States saw a populous movement for tax reform. This movement culminated in February 1913 with the ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution:

"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

This granted Congress the specific power to create a direct income tax. By February 1913, 36 states had ratified the change to the Constitution.

A copy of the very first IRS 1040 form, dated 1913, can be found at the IRS website^[5] showing that only those with incomes of $3,000 or more were instructed to file (the equivalent of about $65,000 in 2010 adjusted for inflation).

Where is the trend of the future regarding getting your online information? Note the revenue Apple just made off the new iPhone, compared to it's desktop Macs.

"Sales of Macs are slowing while revenues from iPhones is booming. iPhones took in $631 million in 2007, to an estimated $21 Billion in 2010. Next year mobile devices will represent half of Apple's total business and deliver twice the sales of Macs." - - Newsweek, June 21, 2010

Figure out how to reach people on their mobile devices, guys. That's where it's at going forward!

Greetings, iJango World Community,

Blog felicitations to you today.

A few points for your Saturday pondering:

1. As you know, Mike and I began this journey with Chairman and Founder Steve Smith in August of 2005. We paid our start-up fee at the beginning, and have paid our monthly fee ever since. The marketing and compensation has existed on its own ever since that time -- almost 4 years now -- and we have made money every month, derived from marketing whatever our product was.
2. Steve told us in the beginning "I want to build something greater than Excel was, but I don't know what it is yet. Are you in?" We didn't want to miss this (whatever it turned out to be) so we said "Yep."
3. There was no gleam in Steve's eye: but based on his past experience, he had criteria that had to be met. Our product had to be

completely online
completely simple and ubiquitous
completely good deal for the customer (no jacked-up costs to the consumer just to pay the rep base)

4. We tried a couple of things. The first morphed into the second which was travel and we enjoyed it and were building a good base with it. However, it was a somewhat limited product regarding residual, AND, in May, 2009, the concept of iJango was brought to Steve.
5. To the approval of all of us who were in the company at that time, the morph to iJango took place, and of course, you are familiar with the events of the past several exciting months.
6. HERE'S THE POINT: (finally): Mike and I paid one-time and one-time only to become part of this marketing base. Everything else in the ensuing years that has been brought to enhance our business -- even the massive changeover to the two iJango websites -- required nothing more from us except to do what we do now-- share it with everyone.

We have made money every month because we've been active and building the business every month.

SO WHEN ADJANGO is launched, you will find yourself with ANOTHER fantastic website you can share with people -- and it will cost you NOTHING extra! Not a dime. Your ability to create income for yourself and your family will be seriously enhanced, and it will have cost you not one extra penny.

If you are not familiar with the marketing industry, you may not know how extremely rare that is. I could cite you instance after instance where a company used its existing reps to fund any enhancements, by charging them extra fees to market the new product.

Steve doesn't operate that way.

So, go forth smiling to share this awesome company with everybody you bump into today!

I ordered ijango tri folds today from Print Press ( a partner store in our ijango.com site)

You have to provide the image via jpeg or other, but I could not get it to work, so I called them and gave them access to my biz site, they copied the original, but it had some things that were not coming through quite right.

But they re fitted it for an xtra $25 dollars, so total for 1000 peices was about 25 cents. with the extra charge.

They are sending me the template for them so when I get it I will forward it to you.

They were extremely helpful, and they did not know about ijango even though they work there. Kermit

SMART-MOVE LESSON FROM HISTORY:

AdJango Chief Search Officer, the Expert Leader in Search since the beginning of Search, Bill Leake, remarked to us the other day that he has used his expertise in Search Marketing to benefit many Super-Affiliate companies that are now Fortune 500s. What he saw with iJango, however, was the chance to use that expertise on behalf of those who need it most: the struggling small businesses in local communities all across America. Hence, the beginning of AdJango.

MIKE AND I KNOW from our experience with Excel Communications that the only way to take a product like this to the grass roots is through feet on the ground and mouths to the megaphone. Individuals sharing with individuals. What Mr. Leake sees with iJango is a base of individuals who have gone out there and attracted a Free Member base that now numbers close to 100,000 (if not over) in less than 6 months.

That's a good indicator that there are SOME iJango Directors who will attack the AdJango model and get that $200 per client start-up and some of that 13% residual per month that is paid to the Director field.

(I won't mention that Excel paid approximately 7% TOTAL commission on l.d. phone bills of about $14-20/month -- and lots of us made a ton of money on residual).

Bearing in mind that the minimum AdJango monthly spend is set at $400.00 and the Client can set his own budget to any level above that minimum, you can see we're talking great potential. Both for the advertiser and for the Directors. What are small businesses spending right now online?

The average monthly spent for Small Business Advertising online in First Quarter 2010 is $ 733.33/month ($2,201.00 for the 3 months). Last Quarter 2009: $716.00 ($2,149.00 for the 3 months).

COMPARE IT TO FIRST QUARTER 2009: $384.00! ($1,152.00 for the 3 months.)

The growth has been steady and dramatic. This quarter 2010 over same quarter 2009, Double-digit growth in average small business online advertising spend.

So, looks like AdJango is a Smart Move by a Smart Company. Our core business is the Free Member Search-and-Shop Community. AdJango is a unique, pro addition to the online search advertising offering that we already have!

Greetings, iJango Leaders of the World!

IT'S PAYDAY! Hope you got into your E-Wallet and clicked the 'Submit' button this morning. I have to pinch myself this time of each week because I can't believe that we can make a regular weekly 'paycheck' for what we do. Just amazing!

When you think back over what you've had to do in your life previously to clear $100.00 into your account, it ALWAYS involved LOTS more commitment, time, involvement, than what iJango does. To get that with this, just give away your website to people. When somebody else wants their own and gives theirs away to 3 Free Members, you make $100.00. Seriously. Thank you, Steve and Rayner!

I don't know how many you'll have to give yours away to -- or if you're in a slump -- but one thing I do know: slumps don't last forever! We've had weeks when we show the biz to 5 people and all 5 became Directors. Other weeks when we couldn't even get anybody to LOOK at iJango! Other weeks we've shown 10 people and just got some Free Members.

But hey! How hard is it to spend 15-20 min. to brief someone on what iJango is and the benefits of an ijango.com home page? AND because once you're Regional, you get paid to unlimited levels to HELP your team so most of the time, Mike and I aren't sharing with our PersonaL CONTACTS but with the personal contacts of our team! There's nothing better out there, I don't think.

And we had a great Webinar-after-the-Webinar, focusing on the AdJango product. National Director Kermit Miller had (as usual) some great insights.

He talked about when he was first introduced to AdJango, he was impressed with what it could do, but he lives in a very small town in Iowa, remote from large population centers, and with the cost of the AdJango service, he just didn't know that it would fit for the small businesses in his town.

But the more he has learned about it over the past weeks, a couple of truths have leaped out at him:

a small ad for one week in his area paper costs at least $50.00 ($200/mo.) and it's static and limited
AdJango could possibly change the way his local businesses do business
In most American small towns, there are only 3 or 4 top persons of influence and those are usually small business owners. Contact them and possibly make a great change for your whole community.
Steve and Rayner have not only given us a product with AdJango, but they have also given us a MARKET.

After Kermit shared, new Regional Director John Chapman (CA) shared for a couple of minutes. John is young and is a product of the internet marketing age.

He referred to Kermit's concern for the AdJango cost to the small business owner and mentioned that he has in fact sold pay-per-click ads for Google and others, and based on his experience, small business owners will jump on AdJango. Especially if it delivers results. As John says: Show a small business owner that you can cut his advertising budget in half and double his customers and you have a client for life!

Kermit pointed out that it's great to have a product and a market, and also a generous compensation plan to go along with it.

Mike said: Show the small business owner your Adjango.com website and what it can do for him and all the incredible features it offers. And right before he signs up, point out to him that he can be a Director for $249 and then be his own AdJango customer. He'll get $200 back in commission immediately and will make commission on his advertising each month. He won't get that deal anywhere else.

And you ask: 'How good is AdJango search positioning going to be?"

You heard Rayner talk about our Search Officer, Bill Leake. "Bill has taken many, many companies to Fortune 500 status with his search expertise." He knows Search. And as Bill himself said on the webinar last night:

"I have helped many of the world's Super-Affiliate websites achieve success. Now I want to take this down to the level where it is most needed: small local businesses. This industry is wide-open out there and we are very early in. It is rare to find a time and place such as this in the business world. I am thrilled to be part of AdJango."

New 'net term for the day: Mass Mingling.

June 2010 | Long gone are the days when 'online' was synonymous with social isolation and loneliness. In fact, we're now witnessing the exact opposite: technology is driving people to connect and meet up en masse with others, in the 'real world'. It makes for an interesting, easily-digested trend, begging to be turned into new services for your customers.

Earlier this year, we touched upon the MASS MINGLING trend in our ‘10 trends for 2010’ briefing, but this phenomenon now warrants its own, full briefing:

As predicted by digital gurus more than a decade ago, hundreds of millions of people are now living large parts of their lives online (and lovin’ it!). However, this has not turned entire generations into homebound, anti-social zombies (another popular forecast).
Au contraire: social media and mobile communications are fueling a MASS MINGLING that defies every cliché about diminished human interaction in our ‘online era’.

So (for now), forget a future in which the majority of consumers lose themselves in virtual worlds, with cities dying and kids never seeing the light of day; expect people to mingle and meet up like there’s no tomorrow. A definition:

MASS MINGLING | Thanks to the online revolution, hundreds of millions are now actively searching for, finding, connecting/signaling, and staying in touch with likeminded souls in the virtual world. Constant updates, GPS and mobile online access is now bringing this explosion of dating, networking, socializing and mingling to the real world domain.

Here’s what driving this trend, in more detail:

MASS MINGLING follows the pattern of any consumer trend, whereby an existing human need is unlocked in a new way. In this case, interacting with other people - a fundamental need (which goes beyond simply enjoying one another's company, or being emotionally dependent on other people) - has become easier thanks to new technology.

So, no surprise here that hundreds of millions of people are now adding and tending to personal profiles (listing likes and dislikes, interests, preferences, physical assets, and opinions), making it easier than ever before to ‘discover', or stay in touch with, likeminded others*.

Think friends and family, colleagues, romantic interests, and those sharing similar hobbies, interests, political preferences, grievances or causes. And all this 'befriending' takes place in unprecedented quantities: never before were people able to build and maintain such extensive and relevant personal networks.

Some numbers: (EYE-OPENING! Barb)

Twitter: 100 million+ users, with 50 million tweets sent each day.
Facebook : nearing 500 million users. The average user has 130 friends, spends 55 minutes a day on the site and receives three "event invitations" to real-life gatherings every month (in December 2009, the company stated that 3.5 million events were created every month). Next? According to The New York Times, Facebook will soon incorporate 'location' in two ways: its own features for sharing location and APIs to let other sites and apps offer location services to Facebook users. This could well be a MASS MINGLING killer app.
LinkedIn : over 65 million members. A new member joins LinkedIn approximately every second.
A ‘veteran’ MASS MINGLING engine like Meetup has 6.1 million members, handling 2.2 million RSVPs and 180,000 meet-ups, in 45,000 cities a month.
Foursquare has one million users, while Gowalla: 150,000 users.
Nearly three quarters (73%) of online teens and an equal number (72%) of young adults* use social network sites. 73% of adult profile owners use Facebook, 48% have a profile on MySpace and 14% use LinkedIn. (Source: Pew, Feb 2010.)

* Hundreds of millions of personal pages, feeds, status updates, tweets, profiles, blogs—courtesy of the Facebooks, the Twitters, the LinkedIns—are building an eternally up-to-date encyclopedia of individuals. Some thoughts on how this will lead to 'forever connected' amongst younger generations, from our fave media guru Jeff Jarvis:

“Thanks to our connection machine, they [young people] will stay linked, likely for the rest of their lives. With their blogs, MySpace pages, Flickr photos, YouTube videos, Seesmic conversations, Twitter feeds, and all the means for sharing their lives yet to be invented, they will leave lifelong Google tracks that will make it easier to find them."

While the rise of the online world remains one of the premier (consumer) stories of our time, other sites with their decidedly 'offline' overtones, are enormously impactful too.

This incredibly powerful tandem of mass urbanization and experiences has resulted in an orgy of real world activities and happenings that are all about mingling; from countless cultural and not so cultural events, concerts, festivals, and seminars, to a burgeoning and truly global bar/dining/party scene, to a Warholian retail renaissance, to tourism & travel now being one of the world's largest industries, employing approximately 220 million people and generating over 9.4 percent of world GDP. In short, people have always, and will for a long time continue to enjoy interacting with other warm bodies.

The mobile web has eradicated any wired person's dilemma whether to be offline in the real world, or being online but stuck in one location (in a room, or worse, in a basement). Offline is now online, and online is offline. More on that below ('An info-layer on top of daily life').

A quick side-step: Traveling (and thus meeting up) has of course become easier, cheaper and yet more sophisticated on a global scale. Forget recessions, strikes and Icelandic volcanoes: the NO-FRILLS CHIC travel-eco-system now includes low cost airlines from the Middle East to Asia, and funky Yotel/CitizenM style hotels from Taipei to Toronto. Making it possible to go anywhere and meet anyone, at low costs, without having to sacrifice too much comfort.

Webinar Notes: in spite of technical difficulties (especially weird static) last night, got some great stuff out of it. Here is the chat board from what ND Kermit Miller shared:

me: Crystal clear.

Kermit: This weekend I helped my kids sheet rock, tape and mud. iJango is much easier than that!

Kermit: Kermit did financial planning for over 21 years.

Kermit: "When you plug in the future value of the dollar and estimate the cost of living going into retirement, I felt that financial planning wasn't the way to go. If you really plug in the cost of living at the current interest rates, you just give up.You can't recommend financial planning plans to anybody."

Kermit: "With interest rates the way they are and the stock market situation the way it is, only people who trade both sides of the board can make money in these days."

Kermit: "But we can all leverage our time and that is the one thing we all have."

Kermit: "It works a lot like that penny a day thing."

Kermit: "The first few months don't excite you, but as you keep going and the numbers keep compounding, it gets exciting."

Kermit: "iJango is something you use every day."

Kermit: "Why wouldn't you use the site that shares revenue with you?"

Kermit: In IA, we have an electricity cooperative. There was an article written recently about my father. Dad and a couple of other farmers in area got the local Rural Electric Cooperative going to help the locals against the high rates charged by the other utility. This was to help everyone save money, but the article talked about the resistance that their idea met from some other farmers -- many of whom wouldn't hook up even when the line went right past their house. Some people want things to be the same, even when it is not the best way for them to go.

So iJango is no different. Explain to people that you either hook up to the electric company that doesn't pay you or hook up with the one that does pay you.

Kermit: The hardest part is getting people to sit down and take a look because everyone is so busy.

Kermit: Turning it back to Mike.

Kermit: THANKS, KERMIT. YOU ALWAYS SHARE SUCH GREAT STUFF.

Kermit: I sold insurance for many years and there are a lot of insurance renewals that don't match this.

Happy Father's Day Weekend, iJango Troops!

Or maybe soccer. Anyway, there sure is a lot of sports going around! Hope your team won last night. Mine didn't but Mike's did. So there ya go. At least his team didn't win easily: it was pretty brutal!

Loved 'seeing' everyone on yesterday's early webinar. Even the hardy Brad Anderson was on from his hospital bed. Greetings go out to Brad for his speedy recovery.

Many of you have inquired about Mike and his knee. He's not the most patient at rehab -- the outdoors beckons so off he goes (yes, without cane, even) but he still has to work at getting it to bend. Otherwise he looks a lot like 'Chester' in Gunsmoke. Thank you for your emails and calls!

Then, when you're contacted, get them on a webinar, give them a webinar, use DimDim and get them on with you (it's very simple - just try it) to watch like, the Webolution video or Steve's video in your Media Center. Or just call them while you're both online and have them watch it, then show them your .com website. REMEMBER; WE DON'T DO SALES.

Just show them the information. Find out if they are a 1. 2. or 3. If one, sign them up. If 2, answer their questions. If 3, help them sign on as Free Member.

I am listening to KMJ radio and -- the bad news just keeps on coming. Here's even more bad news, this time from alert RD Dr. Mike Lassley:

I just got wind of another impending problem in the mortgage business.

Fanny Mae & Freddie Mac were just dropped from the New York Stock Exchange, their stock stayed below a dollar for 30 days. They will now be traded OTC as junk. This is after 160 billion in stimulus.

Modifications will be seriously affected, foreclosures will increase exponentially.

People effected really need to find additional sources of income, fast.

People really need to latch on to the iJango vision! Thank You Steve.
